Fric–Hristić Manor

The Fric–Hristić Manor is located in Bačko Novo Selo, a settlement within the municipality of Bač, situated right on the bank of the Danube. The village has suffered multiple episodes of devastation and flooding. The Fric–Hristić Manor was built in 1900 by two families—the Hristić and Fric families, and is located at the corner of Josif Pančić and Vuk Karadžić streets in Bačko Novo Selo. At the turn of the two centuries, they erected this magnificent manor as a representative residential home. One part of the manor belonged to the Fric family, who were of Jewish origin, while the other part belonged to the Hristić family from Bačka Palanka, of Serbian origin. The original structure of the building differed from what can be seen today; its current appearance is the result of subsequent modifications made after World War II. The manor was built in the Classicist style. The building originally consisted of two sections that did not differ significantly in architectural style. The remaining portion visible today underwent only minor changes, and its overall form has remained largely the same. It was constructed simply, without extensive use of decorative elements on the exterior façade or interior. The façade features a dark ochre color.
