Ethno House “Čapelja”
Built in 1914, located in the village of Selenča, and today rearranged into a Slovak ethno house.
The owner of the house is Jan Čapelja, and it was built by his great-grandfather. What makes this house distinctive and memorable is the predominance of the blue color, which is a traditional symbol of Slovak culture.
In the rooms, which are richly furnished, you can see old authentic furniture and household items. The old built-in furnace located inside the house—characteristic of the period in which the house was constructed—attracts admirers of this cultural landmark. The wardrobes contain examples of the rich Slovak traditional dress from Selenča. The walls are decorated with old paintings and ornamental plates… The shelves hold books from long time ago.
In the courtyard and the utility section of the house, visitors can see tools once used for working the land, as well as items from everyday life.
